About

Hi, and welcome to in the quiet between! My name is Mallika, and I’m so glad you’ve landed here.

I’m an international student from New Delhi, currently studying psychology (with a little sociology on the side) in British Columbia. Beyond the textbooks, I’m deeply passionate about mental health, trauma, and the many ways our past sneaks into the way we love, live, and connect.

This is a space for the things we don’t always say out loud, the messy, beautiful, complicated inner lives we carry with us.

Here, you’ll find reflections on mental health, relationships, healing from trauma, and the quirky ways our minds try to protect us (hello, defense mechanisms). Some posts are personal stories, some are psychology-inspired explorations, some are talking about the best food I have eaten around me) im a pretty big foodie btw), and some are just me trying to make sense of being human in a way that feels a little less lonely.

in the quiet between is about those in-between moments: between breakdowns and breakthroughs, between heartbreak and healing, between who we were and who we’re becoming.

If you’ve ever felt like your brain is both your best friend and your biggest saboteur, or if you’re just curious about why we love, fight, avoid, spiral, or crave connection the way we do, you’re in the right place.
